You’ll work alongside experienced environmental specialists, planners, engineers and other technical experts, contributing to multidisciplinary projects across sectors including energy, water, transport, infrastructure and the built environment.

At Stantec, you’ll have the opportunity to build your technical expertise, broaden your project experience and develop your career within a collaborative consultancy environment where your contribution makes a difference.

About The Role:

  • Contribute to the delivery of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), Environmental Statements and associated environmental assessment documentation.
  • Support the coordination and preparation of EIA reports, including gathering, reviewing and interpreting environmental information.
  • Undertake environmental and planning research, including reviewing relevant legislation, planning policy and technical guidance.
  • Help identify environmental constraints, opportunities and potential impacts associated with proposed developments and infrastructure projects.
  • Coordinate with technical specialists across a range of environmental disciplines to support the delivery of integrated project outputs.
  • Assist with the management of project tasks, ensuring work is completed to a high standard and within agreed timescales.
  • Contribute to stakeholder engagement, consultation activities, workshops and project meetings.
  • Liaise with clients, local authorities, statutory consultees and other stakeholders as required.
  • Review technical information and contribute to the preparation of clear, accurate and well-presented reports.
  • Support project management activities, including programme coordination, resource planning and monitoring progress.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across our planning, environmental and engineering teams to develop practical and sustainable solutions for our clients.
  • Contribute to bids, proposals and other business development activities, helping to support the continued growth of our environmental consultancy services.
  • Continue to develop your technical knowledge and professional skills, with support from experienced colleagues and opportunities to take on increasing responsibility.

Your Impact:

You’ll play an important role in helping our clients understand the environmental implications of their projects and make informed decisions that support sustainable development.

Working across a varied portfolio of projects, you’ll gain exposure to different sectors, environmental challenges and stages of the development process. You’ll have the opportunity to strengthen your EIA skills, collaborate with specialists across multiple disciplines and contribute to projects that balance environmental considerations with the needs of communities and infrastructure.

As part of Stantec’s wider environmental and planning teams, you’ll benefit from the knowledge and experience of colleagues across the business, with opportunities to learn, develop and shape your career in a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

About You:

We’re looking for a motivated and collaborative environmental professional with experience in EIA or environmental consultancy who is keen to continue developing their expertise and contribute to high-quality project delivery.

You’ll have:

  • Experience in environmental consultancy, Environmental Impact Assessment, environmental planning or a related discipline.

  • Experience contributing to EIA projects, Environmental Statements or related environmental assessment reports.
  • Good research, analytical and report-writing skills, with the ability to interpret technical information and communicate findings clearly.
  • An understanding of environmental legislation, planning policy and relevant guidance.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues from different technical disciplines.
  • Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage your workload, meet deadlines and contribute to multiple projects.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence engaging with colleagues, clients and other stakeholders.
  • A proactive approach to learning, problem-solving and developing your technical knowledge.
  • An interest in contributing to projects that support sustainable development and deliver positive environmental outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • A relevant degree in environmental science, environmental planning, geography, ecology or a related discipline.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body, or working towards professional accreditation, would be advantageous.
